What to write about

Corrections. The most useful email you can send. If a number is wrong, a rule has changed, or an explanation is misleading, please tell me — ideally with a link to the source. Corrections are made in the article itself with a note on what changed and when.

Article suggestions. If you got stuck on something and could not find a clear explanation anywhere, that is exactly the kind of gap this site exists to fill. Tell me what you searched for and what you could not find.

Questions about an article. If something was unclear, that is usually a writing problem rather than a reading problem, and knowing about it helps me fix the article for everyone else.

Broken things. Dead links, pages that will not load, anything displaying incorrectly.

Press and permissions. Quoting a short passage with a link back is fine and needs no permission. For anything larger, ask first.

What I cannot help with

I want to be straightforward about this rather than leave you waiting for a reply that is not coming.

I cannot give you personal financial advice. Not because of modesty — because I am not a licensed financial adviser, and telling you what to do with your specific money would be both unhelpful and, in many jurisdictions, not legal. Questions like "should I pay off my loan or invest?" or "is this fund right for me?" depend on your tax position, your dependants, your job security, and your timeline. I do not know any of that, and a stranger who confidently answers anyway is not being careful with you.

If you need that, look for a fee-only adviser — someone paid directly by you rather than by commission on what they sell. That distinction matters more than any qualification letters.

I cannot recommend a specific bank, broker, card, or app. This site takes no affiliate money precisely so that it does not have to, and the honest answer for most products is that you should compare current terms yourself, since rates and conditions change constantly.

I cannot review your budget or spreadsheet. I would like to; there is simply not enough time.

I cannot help with an urgent debt crisis. If you are facing enforcement action, eviction, or cannot cover essentials, please contact a free debt advice service in your country rather than waiting on an email. Most countries have registered non-profit debt charities that provide free, confidential help, and they are far better equipped than a website.

Privacy

Anything you email is used only to reply to you. It is not added to a mailing list, shared, or sold. See the privacy policy for the full picture, including what the site itself collects.

If you send a correction and you would like credit for it, say so — otherwise fixes are made without naming anyone.
